5,000 Subaru Cars to get a recall notice for Airbag Inflators That Could Break into Metal Shards in America There are more than 5,000 old model Subaru vehicles likely to get a recall notice from Subaru America because these models are frequently reported to have faulty air-bag inflators. These air-bag inflators were outsourced from Takata Corp. Air-bag inflators are reported as very dangerous when inflate because the passenger side air-bag rupture into metal fragments which is considered as an active threat to passenger life. U.S. safety regulatory authority said that it is very important to recall remaining vehicles in the enormous interest of public safety. Subaru – a major production unit of Fuji Heavy Industries – said that it will recall all models from year 2003 to 2005 including Legacy, Outback and Baja. Model year 2004-2005 includes Impreza that was ever registered Florida state and several other states. A spokesperson from Subaru America, said that company has not found any defective models having air-bag inflator issues other than reported models. They have scanned all of their dealerships in the states but nobody have claimed that their vehicle has problem. They even do not have any cases that involved injuries from air-bag inflator issues. “Subaru is still considering the recall as an out of abundance of caution” said Subaru person This action was actually taken in the result of a query from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in June when they start asking automakers with Takata air bag inflators in their vehicles. They ask to recall cars for assessment in the limited region because high dampness may cause malfunctioning inflators to act up. Subaru has received a letter from U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration dated Monday which shows that cars that are called in for inspection will have air bag inflators swapped.
