Subaru to Add STARLINK Technologies in 2016 Model line-up

STARLINK packages to be introduced in 2016 model line-up to offer the owners a swing of features and connected services
Subaru has confirmed the introduction of STARLINK technologies in the 2016 model line-up and the Japanese automaker has just disclosed the details of the new system. The new system will offer enhanced convenience and elevated levels of entertainment with more advanced safety features. New STARLINK system will integrate the touch-screen audio and navigation, however in some models it will be available with SiriusXM for connectivity.
This new service is free for one year with new vehicles however, it will be offered for $99 for two years subscription afterwards. Subaru also offers Safety plus and Security Plus packages to add extra convenience and features like stolen vehicle recovery, Vehicle security alarm notification and Lock/Unlock system. Remote horns and lights with remote vehicle locator are also part of the new package. For the first year, it will cost you $49 and afterwards for two years, the subscription fee will be $149.
Subaru will soon offer a free mobile app, supported with iOS and Android platforms. It will also offer the website access to remote services. Safety and security packages will be updated with features like user preferences, diagnostic alerts and several others.
For media, STARLIKE is capable of offering live traffic alerts and travel information as well as the range of SiriusXM programming. Music, Sports, Comedy and news talks are the top features and the apps like Pandora, iHeartRadio, Stitcher and Aha are also compatible with SiriusXM.
Models that offer STARLINK will come equipped with the 6.2-inch screen as a standard, while a 7-inch multi-touch display will be available as an option. STARLINK multimedia navigation will be optional on limited models too. This system will use 4G LTE to connect with the internet.
