Subaru’s WRX STI is back in Britain, Great News for Subaru Fans
March 21, 2014
Subaru launched its WRX STI in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show. Subaru has now confirmed that they are bringing back the brand to UK. Subaru is likely to go on sale in May, and they have confirmed that exchange rates are very favourable for its early launch and it will be priced at £28,995. The all new Subaru WRX STI is a strong rival to moderately specified VW Golf GTIs and Vauxhall Astra VXR, but with an extensively more intricate technical specification. WRX STI is powered by a 2.5-litre flat-four petrol engine which is capable of producing 305bhp of power and 290lb-ft of torque. All the power produced by engine, is transferred to all four wheels through a transmission through an old-school six-speed manual gearbox and Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive. Subaru WRX STI is equipped with a sophisticated body control system named as Vehicle Dynamics Control System that has an active torque vectoring technology to provide power split of up to 60:40 rear and front wheels. This mechanism works according to the driving conditions while the engine and other tweaks are identical to its pedigree. New model has simplified dashboard layout with an electronic display between the Speedometer and rev-counter. It is also powered by a new Harman/Kardon stereo. Subaru displayed a production road car at Geneva Motor Show along with a racing version. This racing car is ready to participate in Nurburgring 24-hour race in June, named as the WRX STI NBR Challenge 2014and it has a 2-litre engine with a power punch of 335bhp and twisting power of 340 Lb-Ft. All new WRX STI is made of high tensile steel which is stiffer and lighter than normal steel, with both features support the dynamics. Let’s wait a bit more months and then you can enjoy it.
